Who handles your data

The data controller is Uood, at Rua Antero Figueiredo, 8, 4590-890 Paços de Ferreira, Portugal.

What we collect

The site collects data at two moments, and only those:

• When you fill in the contact form: name, email, phone and the content of your message. The phone number is optional. We also record the language the site was in, so we can reply in the same one.
• When you visit any page: the server logs the IP address, the date and time, the browser type and the page requested. This is the ordinary technical log of a web server, needed to keep the site running and to detect abuse.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

We use the form data to answer your enquiry, prepare a quote and talk to you about that project. The legal basis is pre-contractual steps taken at your request, under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Server logs rest on our legitimate interest in keeping the site available and secure, under Article 6(1)(f).

We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not make automated decisions about you.

How long we keep it

We keep messages received through the form for three years from our last contact with you. If the enquiry leads to a contract, the associated documents follow the statutory tax and accounting retention periods, currently ten years.

You can ask us to delete your data before those periods whenever no legal obligation requires us to keep the record.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or trade data. Two providers make the site work:

• Netlify, which hosts the site and receives form submissions. It is a United States company and acts as a processor.
• OpenStreetMap Foundation, which provides the map on the contact page. Loading the map sends your IP address to that organisation, based in the United Kingdom.

Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Hosting with Netlify may involve processing in the United States. Those transfers rely on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and, where applicable, on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

The United Kingdom, where the OpenStreetMap Foundation is based, is covered by a European Commission adequacy decision.

What we store in your browser

This site uses no cookies. It uses browser storage in three functional cases:

• uood-lang: stores the language you picked in the switcher, so the site stops changing language on you. It is only created when you use the switcher.
• uood-auto: marks that automatic language detection has already run in this session, to avoid chained redirects. It disappears when you close the tab.
• uood-consent: stores your answer to the consent notice, so we do not show it again.

Your rights

You can request access to your data, correction of anything wrong, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest.

To exercise any of these, write to info@uood.pt. We reply within one month.

If you believe we have not handled the matter properly, you can complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, at www.cnpd.pt.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection only. Access to form submissions is limited to the people who need it to answer enquiries.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we handle it, we update this text and the date at the top of the page.
