The service

Bespoke furniture with in-house design, production and installation

Uood's bespoke furniture starts with your space, not the other way around. Rather than forcing catalogue pieces onto walls with alcoves, sloping ceilings or awkward corners, we design each piece to the exact dimensions and real use of the room, making the most of every centimetre with no gaps and no compromises. Think shelving, TV units, sideboards, headboards, cabinets and integrated home offices, resolved as a coherent whole that sits naturally within the rest of the home.

What sets Uood apart is keeping the entire process under one roof: design and measurement, production in our own workshop in Paços de Ferreira, Portugal's furniture-making capital, and on-site installation and finishing. This end-to-end control brings precision to every dimension and consistency to every finish, whether we are working for private clients or for architects and interior designers.

We work throughout Portugal, from Porto to Lisboa, the Comporta and the Algarve, as well as on international projects. Concentrating production in our own workshop lets us prepare each piece in detail before transport, keeping on-site installation time to a minimum.

How we work

From design to installation, with a single team

A clear process that protects your deadline and the final result.

01

Design and measurement

We start from the brief (or your architectural project) and carry out precise on-site measurements. We define materials, hardware and technical details with clear sign-off points.

02

In-house production

We produce in our factory in Paços de Ferreira, with quality control and finish approval before any piece heads to site.

03

Installation and finishing

We install with our own team, coordinating with the other trades on site, and hand over with the finish and attention to detail that show in the final result.

Materials and finishes

We work with a broad range of materials and finishes: engineered wood lacquered in matte or satin colours, natural wood veneers, high-pressure laminates and surfaces built to withstand daily use. Hardware is chosen to suit each piece, with full-extension runners, soft-close hinges and push-to-open systems where it makes sense to do without handles. Every combination of material, finish and hardware is defined around the real use of the piece, uniting durability with a carefully considered result.

Who it's for

Uood's bespoke furniture is made for private clients seeking unique, beautifully resolved pieces for their home, and for architects and interior designers who need a reliable production partner. For professionals, we ensure the design is faithfully translated into production, with validation points throughout the process to avoid surprises at assembly. For those who live in the space, we deliver functional, durable furniture tailored to everyday life.

With a site date in place, we say how long production and installation take.

FAQs

Questions about furniture

Contact
Can you make furniture to fit irregular walls or alcoves?

Yes, bespoke furniture is precisely the answer for irregular walls, alcoves, sloping ceilings and difficult corners. We take precise measurements on site and design each piece to the exact dimensions of the space, making the most of areas that catalogue furniture would leave unused, with no gaps and no makeshift finishes.

How do you ensure the finished piece matches the architect's design?

We ensure the design is matched through validation points between the project and production. We receive the architect's or designer's drawings, confirm dimensions, materials and hardware before producing in our own workshop, and validate on site during installation. This process guarantees a faithful translation of the project and prevents deviations at assembly.

Do you make a single piece or furniture for the whole home?

We do both, from a single piece such as a bookcase or a TV unit through to integrated furniture for the entire home. When we design several pieces together, we coordinate materials, finishes and lines so that living rooms, bedrooms and office keep a consistent look, even when ordered in phases.

Do you install furniture beyond Paços de Ferreira and Porto?

Yes, we produce in Paços de Ferreira and install throughout Portugal, including Porto, Lisboa, the Comporta and the Algarve, as well as on international projects. Concentrating production in our own workshop lets us prepare each piece in detail before transport, for faster, more controlled installation on site.

What is the difference between bespoke furniture and modular store furniture?

The difference lies in the origin: bespoke furniture is designed and made for your specific space and use, whereas modular store furniture starts from standardised modules the customer adapts. With bespoke, we control dimensions, materials, hardware and interior organisation, making better use of the space and achieving a more integrated finish.
